Happy Birthday Dakota!!!

Today was the best day!! We celebrated with Dakota for her 11th birthday!! A lot has changed in her life since the kids were born, but she still gets to sleep in the bed with us:) The weather was so great!! Madden woke Matt up around 6:00 then Maymie woke me up around 7:00. We had much needed yard work to be done so Matt was headed outside around 8:00. I decided that we need to be outside just as much!

We headed out and stayed outside until 3:00! The only reason we came in was to get ready for basketball practice. Madden came in around 10:00 for a nap so Maymie and I headed out for some flowers. Madden was still asleep so we started planting when we got back. When he woke up he was so excited to go back outside! We did come in for lunch and then back to play.

Doctor??

Maymie loves playing with Madden...aka she loves bossing him around. It makes her day when he listens to directions! They were playing doctor. They were cracking me up! She had him sitting in the pooh chair with his feet up on a little step stool. He just sat a let her do whatever she wanted.

This black thing in his hand is a kitty that they have been fighting over all week. Madden found it out in the little house and has carried it around everyday. It is driving Maymie crazy. I think he is doing to aggravate her:)

She was giving him a shot!

Basketball

So this year we are experiencing a younger scene with basketball. I was so excited when Maymie said that she wanted to play basketball! Then my bubble was popped because I found out that was coed! I knew for sure that Maymie would be against it, well as always she proved me wrong. We went to the evaluations and she was a little nervous when the gym started to fill up. It was nice that she knew the little boy next to her and Bryson was just one person down. They had to dribble down the court, shoot the ball, get the rebound, and dribble back down to the other goal. As I was sitting their watching my stomach was doing flips. I wanted her to have fun and do good. I knew that any minute she was getting up and going to say I am not doing this. Well again I was wrong -- yes Matt that was twice that I was wrong:) She walked up got the ball dribbled down while jogging and then shot she missed it but it did not bother her she turned and looked at us smiled then dribbled back down to shoot again. I was so happy not only did she do great, but she was enjoying what she was doing!! She has a great coach and I get to help! We have had two practices she had to miss one cause she was sick, but I am so proud that she wants to play. I guess you can learn a lot from watching-- she has been in the gym since she was about 4 weeks old:)

Ready to go to the elevations!
Of course we had to support our Lady Panthers!

#26 looking good!!!

So you got to have basketball shoes right?? Well Dad and I went shopping the other day. We went to the Nike store looking for BB shoes. Maymie was at home with T, so we were trying to pick out a pair that she would wear. They had 3 different types. When we saw these we thought for sure that she would love them. I wanted to get the black and light blue or the black ones...we knew that would be a fight cause there was not pink. So we decided these were the ones. I was worried cause I could hear Matt-- No way! When we got back we gave them to her and she said Popa these are a little crazy...I do not know if my Daddy is going to like these. I was cracking up like daughter like mother we had the same thought:) Well he did think they were a little to much, but agreed that they fit Maymie just right!!

Ready to go to the first practice!!
New ball and new shoes!

Layup!

Ball control.

Defense Maymie!!

Big difference from the past 9 years of basketball, but watching my sweet little girl play.....

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Audrey Hepburn:
“For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and remembered; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.”
