Good Friday...???

OK not a lot of things scare me. (the TV coming on randomly is one thing that does:) Storms are truly one thing that have never scared me. Leigh has always been one that watches the weather and says it is bad I think a Tornado is coming. I remember when I was little, Ginger's mom Kathy was a storm tracker and Ginger would never stay at my house if it was raining. Kathy would always say we might need to take cover these storms look bad. Storms just was never thing that scared me I sleep the best when there is a good storm! Now since I do not "live" with the Coopers anymore Julie has taken the role of Kathy. When it storms she always calls and ask if we want to come and get in their basement-- I always laugh and saw no no we will be OK! Well have I a different outlook on storms now. Good Friday is truly a Good Friday. Before we left the house my Storm Tracker husband had checked the weather and said we were good. Stacey and I made picture appointments close to each other so we met her there and had fun with some bunnies! Around 12:30 we headed to Leigh's house to take her to get her shot and she went on her way. Typical rainy day right?? WRONG! When we got to Leigh's I ran in and asked if she was ready to go. I said Matt is hungry so we either need to fix something for the guy or go on to feed the beast. The TV was on and the radar was showing the storms-- still no worries from me. I ask do you want to leave or should tell Matt come inside? She is all worried and is going back and forth if we should leave. We finally decide to go. Matt moves our kids into Leigh's car and Mark brings Marleigh out. We say goodbye to Mark, Haley, and Mason and then we go on our way. We turn left on Thompson lane (in M'boro) and head to Brod St. to get on 8-40. We go past the green way and then the car in front of us makes a u-turn-- Matt says what is this guy doing then he makes eye contact with him and then they look up. Then Matt say oh my we all look out the right side windows and see the most scariest thing we had ever seen. A tornado was headed right towards us. Matt is trying to decide do we turn around, go straight, or go left. We decide to go straight -- we get stopped at the light-- a cop car to our left and a tornado to the right we deiced to run the light go left to see if we could out run it. I am looking to out the back window watching it go the way that we had just left. We are trying to call Mark to tell him to take cover. No ones phones would work-- Verizon did not pull through! We decide to stop at Hardees to use the land line. When we did get in touch with him the tornado had already been through the neighborhood. Haley, Mason, and Mark were in the closet and the dogs were in the garage. By the grace of God there house has little damage. They lost most of all of their trees and all three cars were damaged. My car was the least of my worries. I felt terrible for saying lets go on cause I put everyone life in danger and then I felt bad for leaving some behind. I am a big believer that all things happen for a reason-- still stands true. If we would have left right away or stayed any longer we would have been blown. I was so shaking up for all my loved ones that I knew were close by --was Stacey, Kelvey and Baby safe, did it go through LaVergne was Dad and Debbie OK, was Ginger, Austin, and Adam at home and were they safe, Mom & Billy, Teresa, and Nanny did it go near them, did it go through Nolensville I knew Troy and Julie had the day off were they & the kids OK and all our friends that lived close by, was Dakota and our house still there?? After a little while I did get answers to all my questions and everyone was OK. It is one thing to see the pictures on the TV of a tornado or what an area looks like after one hits, but it unbelievable to be right in the middle and to see part of your neighbor's house missing. As much as I want Leigh & Mark to move closer to me I want it to be on their terms. They were very blessed to have their house with just a few cosmetic damage. They do have power now and are back at home-- very quiet around the house now-- maybe a little to quiet! Thanks for staying with us! We love you!!!

Thanks for the update. I was so worried. God was really watching over the Garrison's house. I am so thankful no one was hurt.
I cant imagine riding in a car and looking out the window and see a tornado coming. What a scary picture.
love and kisses

Yikes, we saw the damage around Thompson Ln and M'boro Rd this weekend. I am so glad no one in your family was hurt. It's amazing that the damage from one storm can take weeks/months to clean up.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Audrey Hepburn:
“For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and remembered; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.”
